The week was fairly uneventful except for a (failed) job interview and a friends birthday party, until 19th May when I went to Venice!
This was my first time visiting Venice and I was so excited! We ended up staying in Mestre because it is insanely expensive to find accommodation in Venice but it wasn’t too bad, only a tram ride into town.
Venice lived up to my expectations, every single street is stunning. It felt like we were in another country the atmosphere was so special.
On Friday we mainly explored the main islands, seeing the famous Piazza San Marco and the Ponte di Rialto.
On Saturday we visited two separate islands: Burano and Murano.
Burano was amazing, definitely worth the long boat ride there. Even though it was rainy and a little gloomy, the colourful town was still so beautiful! I took soo many photos!
If you get the chance, I’d definitely recommend going to Venice! It is by no means an authentic Italian experience but is still so interesting and beautiful. I’m definitely going to go back there many times.
